What pools cost nationally
These are national figures, not Cape Coral figures. HomeGuide, in a cost guide dated July 16, 2025, gives $80 to $250 per square foot, or $25,000 to $100,000 in total, for an in-ground pool installed, with a national average of $62,500. By material it gives $45,000 to $100,000 for fiberglass, $50,000 to $120,000 for concrete and $35,000 to $80,000 for vinyl. It lists an aluminum pool fence at $30 to $45 per linear foot installed and a manual cover at $1,000 to $3,600. It also says a pool building permit typically costs $100 to $300 and that most contractors include permit fees in their price.
Use these only to sanity check a quote. Canal frontage, a flood zone, a screen enclosure and local soil can all push a Cape Coral price away from a national range.

| Flood zone work, equipment height | Depends on the zone and what the city asks. | Flood guide |
| Screen enclosure and its engineering | Often a separate line, contract and permit. | Cage guide |
| Safety feature or barrier | At least one option is required to finish the pool. | Barrier guide |
| Water and sewer connections, fill water | Not part of the pool contractor scope by statute. | Utilities guide |

How to compare
- Send every builder the same one page list: size, depth, finish, deck, cage, barrier option, lot notes.
- Ask each to price the same items as separate lines, and to say which lines are allowances that can change.
- Ask what is not included, in writing.
- Check each license on DBPR before you compare prices. A low price from a contractor with no active license is not a quote.
- Read recent Google reviews of each company, including the low ones.
Frequently asked questions
Are these prices for Cape Coral?
We found no published Cape Coral or Southwest Florida price study, so the guide shows a dated national range from HomeGuide and labels it as national. Cape Coral lots vary a lot: canal frontage, flood zone, cage and soil all move the price. A written quote for your lot is the only number worth using.
How many quotes should I get?
At least three. Give each builder the same list of what you want, so the lines match.
Should the quote include the cage and the barrier?
Ask for both as separate lines, and ask who builds each. The cage has its own engineering (see the cage guide) and the barrier option has to meet the state act.
